I was excited to head into North Vancouver today to meet Caiden and his parents! I am good friends with Caiden's aunt and was thrilled that they asked me to do his newborn session. The session went great and Caiden was easy to pose once he was a sleep but he loved to eat!! He kept his mom very busy with all his feedings. :) Caiden is beautiful little boy who is calm, quiet and relaxed... I thoroughly enjoyed cuddling with him today.

Today I met this gorgeous baby girl and her parents in their Langley home! Chloe was born 5 days ago at 6 pounds 10 ounces. She is a tiny little baby with big beautiful eyes, long legs and arm and big feet... she's going to be a tall girl when she grows up. Chloe gave her parents and I a bit of a workout today but in the end we managed to get her to sleep and I was able to capture the images I had envisioned.

On Monday morning I headed into Surrey to meet this adorable little man, Zackery and his family! Zackery was born on July 16th at 7 pounds 10 ounces and was 21 inches long!! When I arrived at their home he was wide awake but after some cuddles and food he was fast asleep and ready to be posed. He slept great during the session and I loved staring all of his beautiful features and his gorgeous thick hair... soooo cute!

Thanks again guys for inviting me into your home! I had a fabulous time with you and really enjoyed getting to know all of you better!

I am happy to announce that their twin daughters were born on July 16th (my dad's birthday... its a great day!!). I got to meet the girls this past weekend in their home. Emma and Makayla were so tiny and precious... I was in love the minute I saw them! They slept amazingly well during the session and didn't give me much trouble at all! They're perfect little angels!! :)

Things have been soooo busy around here around here these past couple of weeks and unfortunately, I have fallen behind on my blogging!! I'm going to try and get caught up today... fingers crossed!

On Saturday I met with this adorable family!! I first met them last year for their maternity session... they were expecting their second baby. You can see that session here. Now they're back for a baby session with the two boys!! It was wonderful to see them again and to see how much the boys have grown and changed over this past year! Tyler is now two and Jordan will be one next month. Tyler is your typical busy little boy and Jordan is very calm and quiet. They're both very handsome little men and I loved spending my Saturday morning with them!

Thanks for a great session guys... it was wonderful to see all of you again!!

Thursday morning I headed into Langley to meet Jen, Ken, their daughter Charlotte and Jen's best friend, Melissa! Miss Charlotte was 21 days old and filled with sweetness!! She's loved to be swaddled tightly and cuddled by all of the adults!! She would sleep like a dream when we held her but she did gave me a bit of a work out when it came to posing her! This is partially do her age because once they're over 10 days old it becomes harder to keep them asleep and pose them. All in all, I had a great time photographing her and adored the little noises she made and the smiles she had for me!! Once you see her... you'll be in love!

It was great meeting you Jen, Ken and Melissa!! I had a lot of fun chatting with you and thank you for welcoming me into your beautiful home!!

Ohhhh how cute are these two?!?! The second they walked into the studio, I was in love! I first met with these two bright eyed boys at their newborn session in December 2010. You can see their newborn session here. It seems like its been forever since I saw them last and I can't believe how much they have growing since then! They are now little boys with big smiles, teeth, blond hair and the biggest blue eyes ever! They did amazingly well during the session and were great to play with.

Thank you M, J, N and L for coming into the studio once again! It was wonderful to see all of you and I can't wait for the boys one year old session soon!

I met this adorable little guy on Thursday afternoon!! His name is Hayden, he's eight months old, he has the cutest baby chub ever, pinchable cheeks and is soooo sweet!! When his parents J and T brought him into the studio he was full of smiles and didn't play strange with me!! He did amazing well during the entire session and I adored spending time with him!!!

Meet Spencer!

He is six months old and cute as button!! He did wonderful during the session and sat perfectly for me while I posed him, moved him, etc... he was a dream to work with! Spencer came into the studio with his parents K and C on Thursday morning!! His mom K and I went to high school together and we have shared a lot of good laughs over the years!! It was wonderful to see her and C again and to finally meet the newest member of their family.

The weather this month has not been very promising and I have had to move several outdoor sessions into the studio due to all the rain we've been getting. Luckily today was one of our sunny days because I met with C, her husband K and their daughter K at a beautiful outdoor location for her maternity shoot. C is due to have her second baby in August and she looked beautiful today!!! Her sister joined us for the shoot as well and was kind enough to help C with her hair and make-up which was great!!

I thoroughly enjoyed my morning with all of you and and I can't wait to see you guys again when the baby arrives!

I love seeing people that I haven't seen in forever and I got to do that this weekend! I went to elementary school with Chris way back when and have not seen him since our graduating year of high school. Fast forward 15 years and we met again this past weekend for his wife's maternity session. It was wonderful to see Chris again and to meet his beautiful wife Tara! She is absolutely gorgeous inside and out and you would never know it to look at her but she's expecting twins!!!! I couldn't believe how great she looked... pregnancy definitely agrees with her. She is due to deliver two little girls next month and they seem to be very excited about it!! I know I would be too!

I had a great time with you both on Saturday and can't wait to meet the girls next month!!! Good luck with everything!

I headed to Langley on Thursday morning to photograph Kaiden! He was 17 days old, which is older then I like to photograph newborns but he did amazing well and you would've thought he was only a few days old. He slept like a dream and was full of happy smiles for me!!! I have never had so many smiles at a newborn session... way to go Kaiden!!! He is one cute little man and I loved photographing him.

I met this great couple and their newborn son on Sunday in their Surrey home. Little Jake was eight days old and very very cute!! He was so well behaved during the session, he slept almost the entire time. This of course is wonderful for me because it allows me more flexibility to curl him up and pose him anyway I want.

Miss Jorja came into the studio on Thursday morning for her newborn session! She's an adorable little girl with perfect features... look at her beautiful lips!! She's a lucky girl!

I will admit, she gave me a bit of a workout in the beginning of our session! She wasn't keen on being posed and kept waking up but soon enough we had her sleep and I was able to capture some cute images of her.

I met an angel this weekend!! His name is Hudson, he just turned one on April 15th and he is adorable. He has huge eyes, two gorgeous little teeth and the best smile ever!! He's an active baby who likes to scoot along on his bum and he kept me very busy!!

To look at Hudson you would never know what he has endured in his first year of life. He looks like a healthy, happy little boy with no complications. However, he was born with Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome (HSHS). This means he was born with half a heart and would need to have a series of three open heart surgeries over the next three years.

Hudson had to have his first surgery at seven days young in Stolley Children's Hospital in Edmonton. The family drove there to deliver him because they were told these doctors are the "best of the best" and they were! After a very long stay in Edmonton, they were finally sent home on May 21st. One month later he was admitted into Vancouver Children's hospital for three weeks because his oxygen saturation was decreasing quickly. They found he needed a catheterization to buy him more time until his next surgery which should take place between 4-6 months. At four months of age he suffered three cardiac arrests in one week and had to fly via air ambulance back to Edmonton for his second major surgery!! Hudson is doing well now and still has one more surgery to go. This should take place when he is 1 1/2 - 3 years of age.

You have traveled a very long road T family and I think your all amazingly strong and wonderful people!!! I LOVED getting to know you and I wish you all the best in the coming months and years with Hudson!!! I'll be watching the blog for all your updates! :)

Hudson's brother and sister took part in the session as well and they were soooo cute... I have to share a few images of them too!

It finally happened... my best friend of 27 years has finally had a baby!! Wooohooo, I am elated for her, her husband Shaun, big brother Jeremy and both of their families! This is an amazing time in their life and I am so grateful to be a part of it!

Of course I wanted to photograph him and they were kind enough to let me do it! Well, I didn't really give them a choice... lol :) Henrik was 5 weeks early and weighed in at a whooping 6 pounds 9 ounces! I may be biased because I am his aunt but I think he's absolutely gorgeous and I love him so much already!

The thing I am looking forward to the most, is watching our kids (all five of them) grow up together... just like Susanne and I did!! Ohhhh the memories they will create and the trouble they will get into. Now we'll know how our parents felt all those years ago when we were "perfect angels", right San?!?! :)

Check out Mr. M!! Is he not adorable or what?!?! He is seven months old, he has HUGE blue eyes and is one the happiest babies I have ever met! When I arrived to their home I was greeted with a big smile and he kept smiling for most of the session! He was an absolute joy to be around and I loved capturing all these images of him. I had so many great poses to choose from, I had a horrible time trying to narrow it down for these teasers. :)

On Thursday I met with another gorgeous baby boy! Little H was 8 days old when he came into the studio and he was so sweet and cuddly... I was mesmerized by him! But who wouldn't be... just look at him! He's perfect! As cute as he is tho, he wasn't much of a sleeper for me. He had me working extra hard to get him into each pose and to keep him a sleep. In the end I managed to get some beautiful images of him that I am hoping his Mom and Dad will love.

His big sister H was here too, she will be turning three very soon. H was such a good little girl and she was so patient. As soon as it was her turn in front of the camera, she turned on the charm and was happy to have her picture taken! It's not hard to tell that she gets that from her Dad, sorry J!! :)

On Sunday morning I headed into Vancouver to meet the newest addition to the M family! On March 28th they welcomed little O into the world. He weighted in at a whopping 6 pounds 11 ounces and was perfect. He slept through most of the session and didn't fuss much at all which made my job significantly easier. We got some beautiful images of him and I am happy to share them with you now.

Thank you S and C for welcoming me into your home... I had a great time cuddling with O and visiting with you both again. I also wanted to send C a BIG thank you for all your help after the session, I appreciate it!!! :)

On Thursday afternoon I met with this adorable little man and his mom, H!! I first met H a few weeks back for her maternity session in the studio. At that time she knew she was expecting a little boy and he finally arrived on March 21. Yes, the same delivery day as my last blog post! These two babes were born at the same hospital, on the same day within a few hours of each other! It is a small world... :)

J is long, lean and a very relaxed little guy! He loves to stretch out his legs and lay there with his eyes open watching and listening to what's happening around him. He made his mom and I work a little harder to get him asleep and keep him that way but in the end we won and got some great images of him!

It was wonderful to see you again H and to meet little J!

I met with H (mom), L (dad) and their daughter H towards the end of February for T's maternity session. It has been a month since that session and I am happy to announce that they had a gorgeous little girl on March 21!! I met little S on Thursday morning and couldn't resist getting some cuddles from her... she is so sweet, quiet, calm and good natured. Her parents are very lucky to have her!!! :) We had a fabulous session and I am excited to post these sneak peeks for them.

Today is Sugarlily Studios ONE year anniversary!! Wooohooo... can you believe its been a year already?!?! I know I can't. :) The time has passed by soooo quickly!!

I have loved every second that I have invested into this business over the past year... the good and the bad! I have learnt a lot about who I am as a person, what style of shooter I am and what I am truly passionate about. I have made friends with soooo many wonderful people, people who make me want to be a better person and a better photographer! These people are my clients, fellow photographers, prop making geniuses, lab tech's and facebook friends from around the world to name a few! I feel honored to have met them.

Being a professional photographer is the BEST job I have ever had and I truly feel blessed to be doing this everyday. I love picking up my camera and creating memories that I know my clients will treasure forever. To say I have the best job in the world would be an understatement!! :)

I have to say THANK YOU to my AMAZING husband, my three gorgeous children, my dear family and all of my wonderful friends for all their continued love and support!! I would NOT be here today if it weren't for all of you!! Hugs and kisses to you... you know you are!! :)

Yesterday I had the pleasure of capturing beautiful images of sweet little M!! I first met her parents D and M a few weeks ago at their maternity session. They were a blast to be around and I was very excited to see them again! :)

When I first opened the door to greet them, I was taken back by how cute litte M was with her chubby cheeks and her thick, dark hair!! She was five days old, 7 pounds 2 ounces and the BEST sleeper I have ever had in the studio to date!! Lucky for me but not for her parents, she has her days and nights confused. M came into the studio asleep and remained that way throughout most of the session. With only ONE quick feeding, she was fast asleep again and ready to continue posing. She did an amazing job and I LOVED cuddling with her... I could have kept her but naturally her parents declined, LOL!! :)

I am uber excited to post these maternity images!! My latest session was with my nearest and dearest friend whom I have known for 27 years!! I spent ALL of my childhood with her and her wonderful family... I was even labelled as her parents "other daughter" when I was in elementary school!! LOL! :) S and I have shared soooooo many wonderful things together over the years but its our FIRST time celebrating a pregnancy for her!! I've always been the one who was pregnant, however, I am VERY happy to pass that torch onto her now!!! LOL I am elated for her and her husband S and I cannot wait to meet their new baby. I am positive its a girl and can't wait for all our shopping trips together with our daughters!!! (wink, wink... It'll be like old times S!!) Thank you to S and S for coming out to the studio on Saturday! It was great seeing you both again, I had fabulous time!!!

On Thursday I headed into Kitsilano to meet S and C! I spent majority of the session with S and I really enjoyed my time with her. She is one the sweetest people I have ever met! :) Her husband C, ran home from work quickly at the end of the session to capture a few intimate images with his wife and their baby bump! What a great husband!! This is their first baby and she is due VERY soon! S may look 5-6 months pregnant due to her tiny belly but surprising enough she is full term and booked for a c-section on March 28th!! This couple has endured a very stressful pregnancy due to S's low fluid levels. Her cute little belly is ALL BABY!! S and C are coping well and are extremely excited to meet their new son or daughter!!

It was great meeting both of you and I wish you all the best during the next week!! I look forward to meeting the newest member of your family at your newborn session!!

I love my job for so many reasons and one of them is because I get to work with adorable little babies like K on a regular basis!! K's Mom and Grandma joined him in the studio Saturday morning for his 'almost' six month session. He is just over five months old and was very well behaved during the entire session. He was a bit tired so we didn't get a lot of smiles out of him when the camera was around but I did managed to capture some cute images that I hope his parents will enjoy for a lifetime.

Today H came into my studio for a maternity session! This is her first baby and she is currently 37.5 weeks pregnant. She only has a few short weeks left to go until she can meet her new son. On Sunday morning I headed over to the B family home here in Maple Ridge. I met with L (Dad), T (Mom) and little H (their 22 month old daughter). This is their second baby, the sex is still a mystery and so are the name's they're thinking of. :) We tried including their sweet daughter in some of the poses but H wasn't having it! That's okay though... I still managed to snag a couple of her when she was least expecting it!! L and T were soooo cute, you could feel the room fill with love every time they were near each other! The kisses, hugs and that look of love they would share. It melted my heart to watch them. I had a great time getting to know this family, I truly felt as if I had known them forever!! We had so many similarities and they were soooo funny!

Thanks for a wonderful morning L, T and H... I cannot wait to meet the newest addition to your family at your newborn session!

This morning I headed into Pitt Meadows me meet these adorable newborn twins, their Mom (S), Dad (J) and Grandma (H). From the moment I entered their home I knew it was going to be a great session! This family was VERY relaxed, funny and an absolute blast to be around. I loved every second of my time with them and can't thank them enough for all their help, patience and a good laughs!!!!

Meet their little babes... H and H! This is a dream come true for these wonderful people... one boy and one little girl!! YES... they're very lucky to have one of each! Big brother H is the larger of the two, has dark hair, is very chill and has the longest eye lashes I have EVER seen on a newborn! Seriously!!! His sister H is a lot smaller, has fair hair, likes to be warm and cuddled and loves to squeak every time you touch her! lol I was in complete awe of these two miracles throughout the entire session!

Thank you V family for welcoming me into your home and making my time with you so enjoyable!!

I can't wait to see you again at their six month session!

On Sunday I headed into Burnaby for my latest newborn session! I was very excited to do this shoot because I have known this couple for years!! T is my husband's friend and colleague and his wife C and I hit it off years ago. They're a fabulous couple and I was honored that they asked me to document this important time in their families life.

Their oldest son J was born almost four years ago and they recently added one more little boy into the family. Baby J was born on February 01 weighting in at 8 pounds 3 ounces!! Both of their boys are adorable and I loved all the cuddles I got from them. Big brother J loved being in front of the camera and loved being silly!! Typical little boy!! =) Baby J was so sweet! He did fight the sleeping and posing a wee bit but in the end I won and got some beautiful images that I hope they'll be happy with!!

I have said it before and I'll say it again... I have the best clients ever! Seriously!! I love everyone I have worked with and this family is no except. They came into my studio on Saturday afternoon for a newborn session. This is S & S's second baby and he is a cutie!! Big sister E came along too and she's not only adorable but she was a wonderful 'model' and 'assistant'. Thanks E for all your help!! :)

Little O was 13 days old which is a little older then I like to shoot a newborn but honestly, you'd never know it. He took to all the poses very well and we managed to get some beautiful images of him!!

It was great meeting all of you and I look forward to seeing in six months!!

On Saturday morning I met with this sweet couple who are expecting their first daughter in just over a month and they're very excited for her arrival. D and M were soooo easy going and it made for an enjoyable shoot! I tried a few new poses out with them... how could I not... D's tummy is GORGEOUS!! I am very excited with the results and happy to show you their sneak peeks!

D & M... good luck with everything and enjoy these last couple weeks (ps: go to the movie theatre as much as you can, lol). I'm looking forward to the newborn session and can't wait to meet your little princess!

This is my favorite mug to drink my coffee and hot chocolate with! I am a bit picky when it comes to my mugs, lol! My wish list consists of three simple things...

1) It has to be huge
2) I need to get both of my hands wrapped around it comfortably
3) It has to be red! LOL, it has to match my accent colours within our house. Sad... I know. :)

Ohhh man, its been awhile since my last inspiration post!! When I started doing the Inspiration 365 in December I was afraid I would run short on time everyday to do it! Sure enough, I am not even a month into it and I have fallen behind. I was hoping I would make it at least a couple of months before I had this problem! Oh well, I am catching NOW! lol

I am happy to finally be able to post an inspirational image again. This is my daughter wearing her new favorite tutu that she received recently at her second birthday! You can tell by the smile on her face, she was one happy little lady.

WOW... it has been awhile since my last blog post!! I have very busy and have had very little time to blog. I think about it often but the time keeps passing by and before you know it, I have neglected it for a month. Yikes... that's bad. It's a new year and with that, I am going to try and blog more!! :)

I waited patiently for the news of his arrival and J finally delivered Owen on 01.11.11. Yes, that is a VERY cool birthday to have, lucky guy. Owen came to the studio asleep but didn't remain that way for long. He decided he was going to be a little monkey and make me work (hard) for these images. All in all, we had a great time and I did manage to capture some beautiful images for his parents to savor.

It was a pleasure seeing you again R & J and I thoroughly loved my cuddle time with Owen!!

On Sunday I met with Ian and his parents for his ONE year old cake smash session!! Ian is K and M's first baby and he is adorable. Look at those eyes... they're huge!!! Ian loved playing with all the props and I managed to get some great images of him before we brought out THE cake. Ian didn't love it at first... however, once he tasted a fondant circle... he was hooked. :)

This session flew by for me! I have known K & M a lonnnnng time (I went to high school with Mom and I have known Dad for about 16 years), it was great to see them again and catch up!!

Today the S family came into my studio. M and J recently added twin boys into their lives and they are cute, cute, cute!!! Little L and N are just over eight pounds each and are identical twins. It took me forever to know who was who, but as time went by, I started noticing their different personalities and was able to tell them apart. I fell in love with these two little guys the moment I saw them and enjoyed cuddling with them this morning!!!

Due to the Milestones Session, I will be seeing these darling little boys again in 6 months!!! I can't wait to see how they will grow between now and then.

Yesterday the M family came into the studio for their family portraits. Unfortunately, last weekend I had to cancel their session but thankfully, they understood and we rescheduled. From our first conversation on the phone, I knew I was going to like these people. I and L (Dad and Mom) are kind, polite and were an absolute pleasure to be around. Their two children, M who is 10 and J who is 12 were great!! Sometimes it can be difficult shooting younger children but today was a nice change of pace. The older kids take direction well and it made my job sooooooo much easier!!!! :)

In the end, we had a great shoot and we were done in record time!

I had a fabulous time with you M family and look forward to seeing you again in the future!

Whoa... these past few weeks have been a whirl wind for me!! I have been booked solid with sessions, editing, ordering products, delivering packages and sooooo much more!! My regular bedtime has turned into 2:00 am :( and I have been exhausted. However, when my clients receive their packages or I receive an email from them saying they "Loved their sneak peeks", it puts a smile on face and reminds me exactly why I love doing what I do. I truly feel blessed to have such an amazing job and am so grateful for all my clients and the friendships I have made with them this past year! My clients ROCK... seriously!!! :)

With the year coming to an end, I am in the final stretch! Only two more sessions to shoot tomorrow and a few sessions left to edit, several packages heading out the door and the last of the shipments coming in from the labs... I am starting to get very excited. Once all of clients have been taken care off... I will be taking off two weeks to spend with my beloved family and friends!!!

My kiddos are excited to start our Christmas rituals... visit the train in Stanley park, watch Christmas movies on the big screen, bake cookies and tarts and visit Santa Claus to name just a few! This time is special to us and especially after this past weekend when my 22 month old daughter was hospitalized after drinking essential oils. It was a very dramatic experience for her, my husband, myself and our families. She is fine now and we are very happy to have her home where she is safe and sound... happy and HEALTHY!!! This experience has put into perspective, again, how precious life is and how quickly it can be take away from us. Due to this, we are entering this Christmas holiday with a new perspective... enjoy the little things!! The laughs, the looks, the cuddles, the time together... enjoy it ALL!!! It is not about the gifts, it is about the love that surrounds you... embrace it and remember it!!

I hope you do this too and have a Happy Holiday season with those who matter to you!

I have had the BEST clients this year and this family was no exception!! C and L came into my studio this past weekend with their two and a half month old daughter. She is adorable and was unbelievably good. J may be two and half months old but she behaved like a newborn! She slept when we wanted her to and didn't make a peep until the end of the session!

C & L's friends referred Sugarlily to them and little did they know, I was their neighbour! What a small world. It was so much fun getting to know them and it seems like C and my husband S, have a lot in common. I see many beers and hockey chats in their future. :)

This past month has been crazy for me to say the least. I have been swamped with sessions, editing, processing orders, new enquires, etc and a personal issue that has drained me to the core. I will be blogging about this at a later date but TODAY I am here to introduce you to this gorgeous little girl that came into my studio this past weekend.

At six months old J was not only beautiful, sweet and quiet but she was very active!!!! She did not want to sit still for very long because she was having to much fun crawling around on the backdrop. She gave all of us a good work out but I think in the end it was all worth it!! :)

This weekend I met with the K Family for a baby session. The rain held off temporarily so we ran outside to capture a few images of the family and the beautiful fall colors. We then headed into the studio to finish the session. Little K is six months old, ADORABLE and very easy going!! He did amazingly well during the session and seemed to having a great time with all the wonderful props his parents brought. His dad is a fireman so we got some very cool images that I am excited to share with them.

The christmas push is on and I have been very busy shooting some wonderful families!! This weekend the K family came to see me in my studio. They brought with them their handsome son D (four years old) and the newest addition to the family, little S (four weeks old). These two were sooooo well behaved and didn't shy away from the camera one bit. I think D may be a model when he grows up... he really knew how to work all the angles and give me the BEST smiles!!! :) His little sister may give him a run for his money tho, she is cute as a button and has gorgeous features!!

On Sunday I had a family portrait session at an outdoor location in Maple Ridge! I met with this awesome family and we found a place that had huge leaves for the kids to play with... they were in heaven!!! These three adorable children were sooooo well behaved and they did everything their mom asked of them!! Our session was full of laughter and leave throwing... what a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon!! :)

I also wanted to say THANK YOU to my wonderful assistant whom I was so grateful to have with us!! You made my life so much easier. :)

This sweet little lady came to see me on Saturday and she was such a pleasure to be around!!! Her name is Bronwyn and I think it is the coolest name!!!!! She wasn't shy one bit and seemed to be having a great time playing with the leaves, picking up dirt, running around and cuddling her favorite stuffed animal, Winston! Bronwyn will be TWO in a week and she is full of cuteness, personality and has an amazing vocabulary for her age!!! :)

Yesterday was the first time Sugarlily Studios held the Sugar & Spice Holiday Mini sessions! We were scheduled to do the sessions in the studio but the weather turned out to be gorgeous and ALL the sessions opted to do an outdoor session instead. We had a great time playing in the leaves, walking in the trails and just having FUN!!! There are several sneak peeks to come and for those of you who opted not to be blogged, I will contact you with your sneak peeks.

When we started the first session it was still very cold and damp out! These two little fellows came along and didn't even notice... they were to busy running around, getting dirty, climbing trees and just being BOYS!!! I am very good friends with their mother so it was GREAT to hang out with her and the boys while capturing some fun shots.

Fall is one of my favorite seasons! I LOVE the earth tone colors of the leaves on the trees and all over the ground, the cooler temperatures and being able to wear my hoodie with a vest! LOL

Today was a beautiful day and I wanted to take full advantage of the gorgeous light before it disappeared behind the clouds. I packed up my kids and my camera and headed outside for a walk. Our subdivision is filled with beautiful trails and lots of BIG trees. The kids had a great time throwing leaves, climbing up trees, playing in the creek, running on the trails and just being silly!!!!

This past weekend baby Leila and her mom Kori came into my studio for a newborn session. Leila was only a week old but she was one DETERMINED little girl!!!!!!!!! When she arrived she was wide-awake and remained that way for the next TWO hours!!! I tried everything I could to get her to sleep but she wasn't having it, lol. We rescheduled the session for Monday morning and when she arrived... she was wide-awake AGAIN and remained that way the duration of her session!!! Can you believe it?!?!? :) At least she was in a great mood and we managed to get some cute images of her pinchable cheeks, tiny little lips and big beautiful eyes!!!

Friendship means so many different things to so many different people. The things I value in a friendship are simple, or at least I think they are!

1) When you enjoy spending time with that person
2) When you can have fun with them and they make you laugh
3) They generally care about you're well being and you're families well being
4) They're honest
5) They make you want to be a better person everyday

That's it... simple, right?!?! LOL :)

I have some great friends and I feel blessed everyday that I am around them. This past year I have been very fortunate to add a few more into the mix! They're ALL amazing and I love spending my time with them!! The bonus... our children have all become very close too!!

One of these ladies asked me if I would take a few pictures of their children for them and I didn't even hesitate to say YES!! I love their children and was honored to be asked. They have done sooooo much for me and my family over the past year... this is the least I could do for them!!!!!!

We have been trying to do their session for weeks now and were happy to finally catch a break in the weather and our schedules. So, we headed outside this past weekend to capture the fall colors and have some fun with the leaves. These two children are full of life and smiles! R wasn't digging the camera and it didn't help that he knew me soooo well. He was being goofy and silly while his little sister J was being herself... cute, cute, cute!!! She on the other hand, loved the camera and was full of goofy smiles!!

On Sunday J & Q came into the studio with their brand new baby boy, Aden! I did their maternity session last month. It was so wonderful to see them again and meet the newest addition to their family.

Aden was such a cutie and so happy! He was born at 8 pounds 9 ounces and was strong. He did not want to fall asleep for me but eventually I won and when he fell asleep... he was ASLEEP! I could bend him and pose him anyway I wanted and he didn't fuss one bit. :)

Yesterday baby C came into the studio with her mommy. Her mom and I had known each other awhile back but had lost contact. That is until a few months ago when I bumped into her at the grocery store... haha! Now we get together for coffee's on a regular basis and let all SEVEN of our children play together!!! Yes, that is a lot of children.

Little C recently turned one and is the baby of four. She is the cutest little thing... so petite, gentle, girly and full of smiles!!!!!! She makes my heart melt every time I am around her.

It is that wonderful time of year again when we need to start writing lists, buying gifts, planning parties, thinking about decorations and ordering cards! With so many things to do and so little time left to do it, we need to start thinking about Christmas!!!!

The blog has been very quiet these past couple weeks! I have been busy playing catch up while creating new and exciting things for Sugarlily.

Last night I met with Janelle & Quinn for their first maternity session. They are expecting a baby boy in five short weeks and can't wait for his arrival. These two people were both very laid back and a lot of fun to be around. We laughed a lot and the time passed us by quickly.

On Friday I met with the L family at a local park to capture some fun, fresh and vibrant images of their children. O is six and E is fours years old. These two little munchkins were adorable and cheeky... just like their Momma!!! { LOL } We had a great time playing at the park, digging in the sand at the beach and running around on the lawn acting crazy!!!! It is so much fun being a kid!!!!!

I had a great time and look forward to seeing you again soon!!

This morning I met with Mark, Lori, Analeigh and Cash to do a family session in the park! I have known Mark and Lori for a long time now so it was great to see them again. I always love shooting friends... we have so much fun together and it is a great time to catch up!

We headed out early this morning to this amazing location and let Analeigh loose to do her thing. At sixteen months old she is full of life and absolutely adorable!!!! Her eyes are out of this world and her personality is sooooo cute!! She loved saying "Hi" to everyone.

We had a great time today and I captured some great images of them!

Thanks again for meeting with me today guys... it was FUN!!!! Let's do that BBQ soon...

Trying to find the appropriate words for this post was harder then I expected, so please bear with me!!

On Sunday I FINALLY had the honor of shooting an engagement session for my best friend whom I have known for 26 years!!! YES, I know that is a long time!!! We met in grade one and have spent our lives together... growing, laughing, crying, sharing, dreaming and soooo much more!!!!!!

We have been talking, planning and dreaming about this time in her life since we were little girls. Now one of her biggest dreams is finally becoming a reality... she's gettin' MARRIED!!!!

In a few short days, Shaun and Susanne will be tying the knot on a cruise to Alaska with their nearest and dearest friends and family. This is a fantasy wedding that has exceeded what we were dreaming about at six-years old.

So… doing this shoot was very special to me! These two amazing people are my family and I had to get this shoot right! Not for me… but for them!

I met this adorable family yesterday to capture some beautiful images of Sheila's pregnant belly!! This is their second baby and the sex is still unknown... will it be a boy or a girl????

Lucas and Sheila brought their handsome little boy Logan along to the shoot. He was sooooo awesome!! Logan was my assistant and even captured some great pictures of his mom for me. He LOVED looking through the viewfinder, clicking the button and then seeing the images he took! He will be a pro photog in no time! :)

You have got to check out Sheila's jeans... they are buttoned up!!! Can you believe it? Amazing... way to go girl.

I had a great time meeting all of you and can't wait to find out if Logan will be getting a little sister or a brother to play with!

Yesterday I got to meet the cutest couple, Nino and Mirela! Mirela is currently 31 weeks and they are expecting their first baby boy. On Thursday I had the pleasure of meeting Lena for her FIRST maternity shoot!! Lena and I graduated from high school together way back in the day.... and no we will not say how long ago that was, LOL!! This is their first babe and they are very excited!!!!!!

We had a great evening shooting, laughing and catching up!! It was 38 degrees again and we spend most of our time trying to shoo away all those darn mosquitoes and flies!! They were HORRIBLE but Lena was a trooper!!! :)

It was great to see you again Lena and I wish you and Brent all the best with your new babe!!!!!! I can't wait to see him! :)

Tonight I had the pleasure of meeting this fantastic and fun family for a Maternity session!! This is their second pregnancy and B is due to deliver a little boy at the end of August. They brought their 15 month old son T with them tonight and WOW, not only is he gorgeous but soooo well behaved and quiet! He was a little gem full of smiles for Mom and Dad!!! :)

We met at a beautiful location but the 38 degree weather mixed with all the mosquitoes made for a quick and not so relaxing session. LOL... :)

Thanks A, B & T for meeting with me tonight... I had a great time getting to know each of you and I can't wait to see the newest addition to the family... little J.

Friends of mine are in the Mortgage business and needed a few headshots for their upcoming ad campaign. It was quickest and easiest session, ever!! I literally walked across the street from my house, captured some great images of these two easy going people and walked back home!! LOL! I am used to spending 1-3 hours shooting at an given session, so this felt a little weird to me!! :)

The school year has FINALLY come to an end and we celebrated the last day with a field trip to the beach!!! A good friend and I jumped in her truck with the kids and headed for the beach. We thought we knew where we were going, so we got busy talking and more talking until we found ourselves lost in Surrey somewhere!! After several calls to both our husbands, we finally made it!! The boys teacher seemed relieved to see us show up... 30 minutes late!! LOL We let the kids loose to find crabs, shells and to play with all their classmates. I of course was busy taking pictures and chatting with all the news friends I made this past year. All in all, we had a GREAT day playing in the sand, enjoying lunch with friends and savoring this last day of Kindergarten!!!

Our family is looking forward to a fun summer filled with camping, barbeques, weddings, parties, movies under the stars and soooooo much more!!!!

I hope you all have a GREAT summer and enjoy each day to the fullest!

On Saturday I had the pleasure of meeting the newest addition to the P family! Little K was sooo sweet and he never cried... NOT once!! I have to say, that is a first. Not only was he chillaxed, but so were his awesome parents. I have known T (Mom) for sometime now and it was great to see her again and catch up. Today I had the pleasure of meeting "A" and her Grandma for a grad session!! These two woman were a breath of fresh air to be around and the love they have for one another was beautiful to see. "A" has been through a lot in her young life, more then the average teenage but you would never know it when you met her. She is strong, independent and confident!

Grandma is a beautiful women inside and out! She promised "A" if she made it through school and graduated... she could choose the dress of her dreams!! Well... "A" is graduating next week and her dress is stunning!! Way to go "A"!!!! Not only was she lucky enough to buy her fav dress but Grandma also purchased dresses for a few other girls who couldn't afford them. What an AMAZING woman!!!!!!!!!!! :)

I can't say enough good things about these two women... they truly moved me today!!

Good luck "A" in all your future endeavors... I am sure you will succeed in life due to your determination and the endless love surrounding you!

Yesterday I had the pleasure of meeting the B family for a fun family session!!!!

Dad (M) and Mom (K) met me yesterday with their two wonderful children, O who is four, G who is two and there dog Z! This family was not only cute, but also fun to be around and very polite!

O and I hit it off right away... he thought it was cool that I knew all about batman, spider-man and all the other super heroes he likes to play with! O and I had a lot to talk about and he is a very handsome little guy!! I was even lucky enough to hold hands with my new buddy while we walked along the trails :)

Little G on the other hand... wasn't too sure what to make of me! However, once I showed her a picture of herself on the back of my camera... we became fast friends! G was full of personality and gave me lots of silly smiles... :) She has blonde curly hair; big blue eyes and is absolutely adorable!!

We had a great time exploring the trails, throwing rocks in the creek, playing at the park and seeing a HUGE tadpole in the lake!

I was thrilled to go shooting with some GREAT friends yesterday! My husband and I have known this couple for years and we have spent a lot of our time with them. Needless to say I was elated when they called and asked me to do an engagement session for them.

The weather man was calling for RAIN all day, so we scheduled the session early in the morning and headed out on the town. We managed to avoid the rain until the last five minutes of our session, phew!!!

Yesterday I had the pleasure of meeting baby S and her wonderful parents! She is five weeks old, alert and LOVES a good cuddle. Baby S spent the first half of our session fighting me to go to sleep, BUT eventually I won and managed to get the images that mom and dad were hoping for! We did have a few accidents along the way that made for a good laugh, but not a good picture (Right Mom?!?!).

During our session we started chatting about our mutual friends who referred me to them. During our conversation we realized that "dad" went to school with my husband and we have all attended several functions together over the years... WOW... that is what I call a small world!

Thank you S family for coming to see me yesterday!
